Dear Doris

Its a pleasant but cool day. I have got my self free from debt in a way, this morning James came for me & I had him go down with me to Alices [[Alice's]] with books, I have had here all summer & get more for Mrs Osborn likes to read them after that he went up & took Mrs O'Brine & his grand child to be treated at the hospital & then I had him take me into the square so I would pay Campbell that bill you sent & Arthur Dykemans [[Dykeman's]] electrical bill. I had never had the opportunity to settle he moved into his old building in front of Arthurs store. Little Henry is doing insurance in where he moved out beside Ralph. I have not seen any of the family since you were home I guess they have deserted us all. I am sure I dont [[don't]] care if they dont [[don't]]. There is a black cloud coming up in the west but it is wind a disagreeable day to be out, tomorrow is Armistice day a partial holiday & a ball at night my blood test was taken it had not changed any it was a very strong & healthy beat he said. We dont [[don't]] eat but a very little meat, she cant [[can't]] eat fish but we had a clam
