& took her down town to the post office & market it was Kidder but he was in his old clothes, so did not get out, he works for the Ameses his wife looks older than her mother, she has three children, the little one a year & half old, has had abses in her ear cutting her teeth but is a  healthy looking child now since she got through cutting her teeth. I am going to have clam chowder for our supper tonight
she felt it handy for me to warm up she seems very thought full [[thoughtful]] & does every thing as she would if it were her own every day she brings in a lot of the shingles from out doors & dries them back of the stove & has the box in the backroom heaped up high with them. & looks out to have Pa's plate filled with food so he dont go hungry to bed every night he brings his paper for her to read. it comes too late for him to see to read it. she likes the paper its the same as she has at home. I am afraid its going to be a dull day tomorrow its hazing up I am anxious to get Alices letter she is going to write for I think she is going to be married soon I hope she gets some one she can have a good home with, as he is an old man jobs are scarce & young men have hard work to live these days its up to her, to choose right. I have not heard from Gladys since she was here. hope you are all well the weather has been lovely & moon so bright all night. how pleasant is the world we live in
