Dear Doris
This has opened up to be a very sunny cool day. I have had a few clothes on my line these last three days. its an awful job to get Pa to change his dirty clothes to clean ones. I have to fight to make him. so far I have won out he is so obstinate I guess it goes with the disease. I slept better last night but when I finally woke I was in mortal agony. I rub myself a lot to try strengthing [[strengthening]] the muscles. I have just woke up since breakfast & found the table just as it was left as we got up with the milk & butter still on it. everything stops when I do. & I am like an old clock run down, ready to cart off into the attic. I feel that my life work was nearly finished no good to any body. Pa says we are both used up & he is about right this time. our days of usefulness have gone bye. I envy every body who has two good legs & can get about their work. my strenghth [[strength]]. is gone after I get across the room & still I prod along. Pa is good on his legs yet but deficient in his upper story. yet still he wants to have things go as he sees them he is bound to boss to the end of the chapter. if he was mild it would not be so difficult to manage him.
