Stoughton Aug 11th 1933

Dear Doris

I have been cool all day here in the house but it is warm in the sun. its a lovely day I dont use my cook stove the grill is much handier there is nothing I bake Pa I fear is most starved out but I cant [[can't]] manage to bake I'm not able I am not hungry to day for a blessid [[blessed]] thing & Pa turned up his nose in disgust at my pea soup for dinner. it is after two now they were coming for me at one. I guess its one of their busy days. Hattie Smith called to see me this forenoon & I hardly knew her. she said Frank had an attack for six weeks he suffered much & all at once it left him as soon as it come but mine is not so accomodating [[accommodating]] I fear. what do you want of another typewriter Fred Snells is here up stairs Lena cleaned it all up & it remaines [[remains]] in state all covered up in its case up in the unfinished chamber. Bruce is not due to pay till the 15th & my money will hold out for some time to come up in the draw [[drawer]] in the sewing room. I guess the car is coming now three O'clock. its a taxie [[taxi]] they send one up frequently when their car is in use & then its fifty cents. The Dr was away to day so I did not get the
