TO THE MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS OF THE FIFTH AVENUE ASSOCIATION, INC.:

Subject: Request to display flags September 6th and September 17th

Next Thursday, September 6th, will be the anniversary of the birthday of Lafayette, as well as the anniversary of the Battle of the Marne. The Lafayette Day National Committee is urging the general observance of this day. We have co-operated on this occasion in the past, and we are again urging you to join in the celebration, by displaying the American and French flags side by side, or at least by flying the American flag, on this day.

We have a further request to make of you, and that is to display the American flag on Monday, September 17th, on which day New York City will observe Constitution Day. The Sons of the American Revolution are urging a nation-wide observance of this day, and have expressed the hope that our Association will co-operate as fully this year as it did last year.

Very truly yours
Thomas W. Hughes

I wasn't a hundred percent sure about the spacing and how to transcribe all the spacing, but I did my best with it. Still, it would afford to be checked. I also may have had one [[??]], so anything right before that mark could be checked. Thank you!
