Dear Miss Francis:
You have asked me to give you my opinion as to the value of the drawing by Odilon Redon "Ombre et Lumiere", which you own, and I am glad to do so.
Let me say first that this drawing is well known to me. Its dimensions are 20" X 15", and it is signed lower right "Odilon Redon".
It represents a classical head of a young girl seen full face through an enclosure. Her head is surrounded with flowers, leaves, and berries.
In my opinion the market value of this drawing should be put at $1,000. (One thousand dollars.).
I trust the above information will be of help to you and you can make use of this letter for insurance purposes should you so wish.
Yours very sincerely,
(Germain Seligman)
Miss Muriel Francis
