1. English 1765. Elaborately carved in rococo design with original gilding and plate glass.
The upper end has in the center two C scrolls separated by leaf ornamentation surmounted by a branch of leaves; at either end being extended a beautiful rose and leaf carving.
The main outlines of the frame consist of four C scrolls and two elongated scrolls outstanding from which are carved leaves with a rose in the center of each side within which is an oval looking-glass. At the center of the base are two Acanthus-leaf C scrolls separated by a spread Acanthus-leaf motive. The openwork design of the carving gives to the whole a very graceful effect.
