Dear Dr. Friedlander:

Seeing you in Ascona this summer is certainly one of the most pleasant recollections of our trip to Europe, and my wife and I have often spoken of the brilliant spirit which you were in that evening.

You told me then of the trip you were contemplating to the United States, though you were not quite sure of its date.

May I inquire whether your plans are set, and whether you can tell me when you will arrive and at what Hotel you will stop? If I sound so inquisitive, it is in order to be sure that I will not be away from New York on some business trip when you are here.

Looking forward to hearing from you, and,

With personal regards,

Sincerely yours,

(Germain Seligman)
