Dear Dr. Friedlaender:

To have seen your handwriting again was indeed a great thrill, and I am happy to read that you are well, and living under comparatively good conditions.

As you are spurning my offer for food, I am not sending you any at present, and have instead sent you by boat and registered mail two hundred sheets of thin note paper with the company airmail envelopes.

Do let me repeat that I would be only too glad to send you a few items in the food line if you were good enough to hint at what would be agreeable to you.

In the next few days I shall send you photographs of my new French Primitive, as long as you tell me that you would welcome them.

Meanwhile, with warm and personal regards,

Sincerely yours,

(Germain Seligman)
