OAL:R January 27th, 1937 Dear Sir: You informed us several months ago that you had sold for our account, to Mr. William R. Hearst, 2 Gothic mantels of the Fifteenth Century which are in Paris, for the sum of Five Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($5,600.). On August 10th, 1936 we received from you a check in the amount of Fifteen Hundred Dollars ($1,500.), as payment on account. As a matter of record, we find it necessary to bill these two Gothic mantels to Mr. William R. Hearst and also credit him with the amount so far received. On the original amount of $5,600., Six Hundred Dollars ($600.) is your commission. As we don't know whether you have deducted this commission already, from the check you received from Mr. Hearst we would like you to post us about this, so that we may make accurate entries, and a detailed invoice to the purchaser. Thanking you in advance for your cooperation in this matter, we are, Your very truly, JACQUES SELIGMANN & CO., Inc. By:- Jacques Furst, Esq. 2 East 57th Street New York, New York c/o René Gimpel Gallery GS
