Dear Sir,
Yours of 20th in regard to employment of teachers now in Ga. is recd. Mr Hooper is about to visit Washington to see Genl Howard; from him he will learn definitely what the Bureau will do in the matter of transportation.

When that is settled we shall know better about our financial prospects; & in case the transportation is paid we shall prefer to send our teachers from here. Therefore we wish to enter into no engagement, through you with new teachers, until we see
