Washington, October 13" 1866.

Mr. G.L. Eberhart,
Supt. Education Georgia.

Dear Sir, - General Howard directs me to say that
your Educational Report, which should be made promptly each month, is specially desired at this time.

Will you please gather all the general information as to education during the summer vacation; also, the prevailing sentiment as to schools among the Freedmen; together with the statistics (as per Blanks sent you) to Nov. 1st, and forward the same as soon as possible.

It is indispensable to the completeness of the Commissioner's Annual Report to Congress that all the data be here by the 10" Nov.

I have the honor to be,
Very Respectfully
Yours, &c.
