If there be more than one religious denomination among the freedmen, so arrange it as to have all represented in the board; and it may be well to indicate one who is not a member of any church so as to have all interests represented.

I do not presume that there are any colored men in Eatonton really qualified to discharge fully the duties of school directors; but the school is theirs - is established solely for their - benefit - and they must not be denied the chance to learn such duties by choosing white men to act for them.

They and you under my supervision can I think do all that is essential to the prosperity of the school.
