the building has been commenced. Can you give us two or three hundred dollars for the rent of the building for the school and we will furnish as rapidly as possible? I think you will understand that I ask the above sums as rent of the buildings for school purposes for the freedmen, but the exact amount must be fixed by your own judgement and the amount of funds at your disposal.

Help us all you can, and we will do all that we can in the great work of elevating the degraded freedmen. We are getting our society into good working order, and will soon be able to do a noble work. We will forward you bills for the transportation of teachers in a few days. Let me hear from you at your earliest convenience.
