Brunswick Ga Decb. 10th 1866

G L Eberhart Esqr

Sir
The vouchers setting forth my salary for the month of November only has been received and also the vouchers for the room rent for the same month and I cannot understand why you did not make them out for the first month which I taught in place of the last of the three which I have been teaching I hope that you do not intend this to be all that I shall receive for my salary for the three months which I have served the Freedmen If that be the case I must seek other employment

The books which I ordered and which you promised to send has not yet come to hand and we are all much in want of them do please attend to the matter and either send the books or let me know that you cannot we want a stove for the school room and I wish that you would send me one for that purpose as there is no fire place in the room and the owner will not build one the stove will require eight lengths of pipe and one elbow we will be obliged to have something or means by which to warm the school room this winter as we have already felt the want of it
