Your communication of Jan the 25 /67 is to hand, and in complying to that order I can say that I did lay the subject of Schools and Education before the Freed people of this County, but there being so few of them in any one Locality that they seamed to take no interest in the matter, and as there was no school in the County I suposed I had nothing to report. [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] If there is one colored child going to school in this County I do not no it, there is some people in this County who would help to school the colored children if they could be taught in Schools to them self. 

I am a poor man never owned any slaves, and am willing to do any thing I can to Educate and School the freed people
