Last year I had the pleasure of some interchange of thought with you in reference to the education and interest of Freedmen in Georgia. But my field embracing, as it does, Alabama, as well as Georgia, and we not having any start in Alabama. I felt it my duty to devote especial attention to that state, and made my head-quarters at Huntsville Ala. Having giving the work a good start, for we are now stronger in Alabama than in Georgia, I have moved my Head-quarters to Atlanta, and hope for a more perfect understanding and hearty cooperation with each other in this great work of the age. I have visited Rome, and understand Mr Caldwells relation to schools there Also Mr J. H. Caldwells in that district. I have spent a couple of days at Griffin last week and preached on Saturday and Sabbath morning to
