Progne dominicensis & Petrochelidon fulva (most numerous) were nesting or building in the rocky islets on S. side of Samana Bay Mar 21st. Those shot did not have testicles very much enlarged, & no eggs and could be found in the four nests accessible. Probably but few had as yet laid eggs.

Dulus dominicus still nest building at Cayo Hondo, Mar. 20th.

Pelicans not yet nesting.

Columba inornata apparently nesting in mangroves, San Lor. Bay

Crows not yet nesting. 

Columba inornata apparently nesting at Laguna.

Erismatura dominicus ? a few small ducks possibly this species were seen at Laguna de diablo. 3 hrs. from Laguna. March. 12th They kept in middle of lake, out of range & water too deep to wade.

Constanza-

Ap. 11. A boy brot. me a pair of young sparrow hawks, fully fledged, nearly ready to fly. He said he found them in an old woodpecker hole, 12 ft. fr. ground in a large tree.

Ap. 7th a community of Signes (Dulus) abt. 6 pairs, are nesting in the top of a large lone pine abt. 80-90 ft. fr. ground. in outskirts of village (Constanza)- nest is abt. twice as big as [[?]]
