May 9th. Shot ♀ Hyetornis rufigularis below Hondo on Rio Grande. had well developed eggs, & one egg with remarkably hard shell was smashed with shot. bird was killed by mistake with heavy cartridge.

Swifts of 3 species were at the clearing above Hondo in the evenings abt. 6 o.c.
also a larger swift flying night jar - Nyctibius abbotti (Don Juans) heard every evg.

Echinique, a cripple at azua who knows about pottery & Indian remains.

Plagiotrutia said by Huntington (Engineer), to exist between Payavo & Questo Blanco & old & new Camino Real. 

Priest at Jarabacoa said to have collection of Indian curios. 
May - 1919. 

Collection of India curios at S.F. or Macoris sold abt. Mar-19- to ayuntamiento of Santiago for $350. Said to have contained 2-300 articles including small figure of white fluit.
