I have the honor in compliance with paragraph II Circular No. 10 from Your Office to report complaints made by Freedmen result of investigation and action taken in the matter—

1st Aug 10th 1867
Elizabeth Williams (Colored) complains that C.W. Boyd of Yazoo City had treated her cruelly and discharged her without settlement—referred her to Civil Authorities — Justice S.G. Chambers refused to act — the case was by request of all parties settled at this Office. Boyd Gave note for $45. to Elizabeth Williams — Boyd perfectly responsible—

Henry Daily (Colored) complains that his wife Emma Daily has persistently refused to live with him since 1st Jany 1867 — investigation found that Henry Daily had used his wife badly having whipped
