E.A. Shirly. had a Guard punished him by my order for the purpose of capturing a horse thief. He captured the thief and recovered the horse. thief was turned over to the Post Comd & the horse turned over to Lt. Qumiby AAQM

Mingo and Myle Eastman both led. state they have been working for Thos. J Hutchinson of Clayborn Co since the 1st of January & state on the 1st of July he was to pay them one hundred dollars & he has failed to do so. they have left his place I have carefully read the contract and Mr Hutchenson agrees to furnish nothing but Rations till the end of the year. I have referred the case to the Sub. Asst. Comd. at Port Gibson to investigate Mr Alden being the Bureau Agt. for Claybourn Co

Complains that Saml. Wakefield has abused him in regard to pay. docked his wages two dollars without cause. I have written Mr Wakefield at Warrinton to write and come to this Office & explain

Complains against Saml. Jones Planter in La. I have advised him he must go to the Sub. Asst. Comd. at Millikens Bend. as I have no authority in La.
