I have had charge of this Sub District.

[[left margin]] Nature of contracts for the present year [[/left margin]]
A large majority of freedmen are working for a share of the crop, some are getting one third of all the crop made, every thing furnished them except clothing, medical attendance &c. Others are working for one half the crop made, furnishing their own provisions, clothing, & medical attendance &c. Some are working for stated wages getting from $150 to $225 per year, some are working by the day at wages ranging from $1.00 to $2.00 per day.

There are no old sick or infirm freedpeople that are suffering from want, to my knowledge in this Sub Dist. 

[[left margin]]Number of rations and to what class issued.[[/left margin]]
I have issued no rations or supplies to any class of people in this Sub Dist. none ever having been furnished me.

[[left margin]]School their number, and condition.[[/left margin]]
I have heard of but one school for freedmen in this Sub. Dist. this has recently been commenced, since the freedmen have finished working their crops. I only heard of this school indirectly, know nothing of the number of scholars or its condition, do not know the teachers name.

With reference to the marriage relations of the freedmen, there is still a great room
