I have the honor to furnish the following General Report of the Condition of this Sub Dist. Owing to the great number of the planters and freedmen who have visited the office in the past month and with whom I have had full and free conversation I have deemed it unnecessary to visit the different portions of the district Since my last report the destruction of the cotton crop by the Army-worm has become a fixed fact they have appeared in increasing numbers upon almost every plantation in the County and all agree that not more than from 1/3 to 1/2 a crop will
