I investigated the complaint and effected a satisfactory settlement, the amount found due Jay on the settlement was eighty four dollars and ninety five cents ($84.95) Neal paid twenty dollars cash and ballanced [[balanced]] sixty four dollars and ninety five centers ($64.95) in note payable January 1st 1868. [[left margin]] Complaint No 8 [[/left margin]] Elvey Swift (Freedwoman) complained that W. Harris owed her for services of her daughter (7 months) for the year 1866 and refused to pay her. I found in settlement that Harris owed her $21.75 for which she accepted Harris note due Oct 1st/67
