There are between fifty and seventy five sick old and infirm in the Sub Dist., not all suffering from north but are dependent on charity.

V.
During the month of Aug. over three hundred rations were issued. The class of people issued to were generally the poor class of white widows with large families of small children about 1/4 of the applicants were colored.

VI.
The schools for Freedmen have been closed during July and Aug. There is a great interest felt on the subject, the only difficulty will be in getting good teachers that will be willing to come into this country.

VII.
I can see no improvement in the Freedmen with regard to morales. The marriage relation is sadly disregarded. The Bureau has but comparatively better assistance from the while people in this respect. They having no hopes of them improving use no efforts to stop violators.
