Cases Tried during month of October.

Oct 10. Edmond Williamson against - Huffstickler - Complaint that he could not get rations or pay. On examination of contract, found that there was no provision for rations; that the freedman's complaints were verified, and accordingly annulled contract and found indebtedness of Huffstickler to be paid $45. which was ordered to be paid.
October 14. - Wadlington, planter, complained that Edward Lee and wife, freedpeople, had broken their contract by running off in his debt. Examined contract, witnesses, and accounts; found charge proved, and returned them to plantation.
October 21. J. Westly Dunn and Charley Taylor complain that Thomas Walton did not pay them their share of crop for 1866. All parties present. Referred to arbitrators and personally examined accounts. Found that Dunn was indebted $5. and Taylor $53. at settlement of accounts
October 
26. George W. Columbus complains that George C. Stancill turned his wife away without payment of wages. Examined accounts and witnesses, and found that complainants have overdrawn their pay, and woman is working at another place.
