(5) Hannah Moris (cold) v.s. A.P. Dunaway Yalobusha Co. Oct. 3d"/64

Makes application to this office for her children living at A.P. Dunaway.  States that she had no contract with Dunaway.  also wants her clothing.  Wrote to Dunaway to come to the office.  Dunaway appeared at the office, and upon investigation had to defer a final settlement on account of witnesses.  Matter settled.

(6) Eliza Heath [[?]] (cold) v.s. John Moore Yalobusha Co. Oct. 4th, 1864

Made complaint to this office that John Moore struck her on the head with a stick, because she tried to protect her children.  Wrote to Moore to to come to the office.  According to appointment said Moore appeared at the office after partial investigation.  Sent the parties to Court House, and Moore was fined $15, for committing Assault & Battery on said Eliza Heath.

(7) R. E. Winn v.s. Freedmen Yalobusha Co. Oct. 4th, 1864

Came to the office this day with his freedman to fix up and arrange their Contracts and requested [[strikethrough]] to give said freedman instructions, about this worke [[?]] and their contract which was done, and all disputes appeared to be amicably adjusted freedmen went of [[off?]] satisfied to this work.

(8) Green [[?]] Barry (cold) v.s. Sam Futhy Yalobusha, Co. Oct. 5th, 1964

Appeared at this office and stated that Sam Futhy attempted to kill him, that Futhy had his knife opened and tryed to cut his throat, that he ran and got over the fence pursued by said Futhy.  that he ran [[?]] into a pond or lake of water and tried to drown him by throwing chunks and pieces of sticks at him.  Ordered Futhy to be arrested.  Furthy appeared but the Freedman Green Barry did not appear and has [[?]] hid ever since.  Not settled.
