Neil No. 27 Freedman | Says he worked for John Sutton this year and Sutton beat him severely with a club and will not pay him for his labor. | Oct. 7" 1867 | Sutton was arrested and fined $15.00 by the civil authorities and the freedman went back to gather his crop without further molestation. |

| Price - No. 29 Freedman. | Says he worked for Mr. Brie and was driven off without pay. He was to get one half of the crop. | Oct. 8" 1867 | The man was allowed to go back and gather his crop without molestation. |
