Very few sick Old or infirm Come to my knowledge. who are in want to clothing or medical attendance.
Schools have somewhat diminished in number during the hot weather - still two in Vicksburg - are still in session with good attendance
The Conditions of the Freedmen as to the marriage relation is bad. Very often the maratile obligations are entirely disregarded. I regret very much that I am not able to report an improvement in this respect
I think the disposition of the White people towards the Blacks is generally fair
I am happy to be able to report the Crops encouraging - Corn superior Cotton an average
