Davenport agreed to do
(2d) Henry Franklin (Cold) complained that John T. Murdaugh (white) after hiring him for a year, discharged him after two months work, without paying him for his labor. Mr Murdaugh reported to this office and Henry Franklin being present the case was settled by Murdaugh agreeing to pay Franklin the bal due him after deducting the amt of Franklins indebtedness $(6.45) to him.
(3d) Ben. Irian (Cold) complained that he built a house in land owned by Thomas Irion (white) with the understanding that he could occupy it as long as he wished & cultivate Mr. Irions land dividing the products equally, that. That [[Brian?]] is forcing him to vacate the house, not allowing him to procure another house
Thos. Irion reported in person to this office and stated that as Ben Irion had made arrangements to work with another man, during the next year he wanted possession of the house, as he had em-ployed another tenant, who would occupy the house, and was only waiting until Ben could give possession. 
In this case I required Thos Irion to allow Ben Irion ten (ten) days in which to procure an-other house. 
Other complaints have been made upon which action will be taken as soon as partied complained against have appeared at the office

I know of no complaint to make regarding the manner in which the State laws have been enforced in case involving rights of Freedmen .
