Lieutenant:
In compliance with paragraph 2, Circular No. 10, I have the honor to submit the following report, for the month of October, 1867. 
Oct. 1st. Benj. McCaleb, colored, filed a complaint against R. E. Guin, whom he alleged continually threatened to drive him off his (Guin's) place, and on the morning of Sept. 12th, while absent from home, set fire to his house, turned his wife and children out doors. Case was investigated and the complainant placed in possession of his house with all his effects; defendant placed under obligations to pay damages out of his portion of the crop
