The first of these Schools has been long established and the others have been in operation, only since the first of the Month. Another school for the Two Teachers who are to be sent to this Place by the Superintendent of Education of the State of Miss, can be easily established here and I am sure will be well attended. The present School is over crowded, I am informed that a School will open at Monticello Miss, on Monday Nov 4th 1867 and one also at Hazlehurst Miss, both for the benefit of freedman, The latter will be taught by Mrs J.W. Weeks, whom I regard as in every way competent and in consequence beg leave to withdraw my application for a Teacher for the Town of Hazlehurst.

The School at Mr Hookers Settlement kept by W.J. Bullock, will double its number of pupils after the first of November.
