GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS COVERING ALL EVENTS

[[underline]] A—PLANE ELIGIBILITY [[/underline]]

(1) All airplanes with any type of Department of Commerce license shall be eligible to enter all events.

(2) Foreign airplanes from foreign countries are eligible to enter any events provided they have been registered or licensed by their respective governments, and met the proper license requirements as set forth by the Department of Commerce.

(3) Any type of engine, with or without supercharger, may be used, subject to the approval of the Contest Committee and provided the aircraft entered is eligible for the type of license displayed.

(4) License cards must be prominently displayed in all aircraft entered in order to be eligible to start in any event for which it is entered.

(5) Qualifying speed dashes will be held, and contestants must compete and qualify in these speed dashes in order to be eligible for the Closed Course Events.

(a) Motors with 200 cu. in. displacement or less entered in the Closed Course Events, must make a qualifying speed of 125 miles per hour.

(b) Motors with 375 cubic inch displacement or less entered in the Closed Course Events, must make a qualifying speed or 175 miles per hour.

(c) Motors with 550 cubic inch displacement or less entered in the Closed Course Events, must make a qualifying speed of 200 miles per hour.

(d) Motors with 1000 cubic inch displacement or less entered in the Closed Course Events mist make a qualifying speed of 200 miles per hour.

(e) Motors with unlimited cubic inch displacement entered in the Closed Course Events, must male a qualifying speed of 225 miles per hour.

(6) The pilot making the fastest time in each cubic inch displacement group will start in pole position in the closed course events. The pilot making the second fastest time will start in number two position, etc.

(7) The qualifying speed dashes for the 200 and 375 cubic inch displacement groups will be held on Wednesday, August 29th. All ships must qualify on this date to be eligible for the closed course events for these groups.

(8) The qualifying speed dash for the 550 cubic inch group will be held on Thursday, August 30th. All ships must qualify on this date to be eligible for the closed course events for this group.

(9) The qualifying speed dashes for the 1000 cubic inch displacement group and motors with Unlimited cubic inch displacement, will be held during the morning of August 31st, September 1st and 2nd, and all ships must qualify during one of these periods to be eligible for the Closed Course Events for these two groups.
