Gerd Achgelis...German aero-batic champion...has been flying eight years...battled five hours above Berlin to wrest aero-batic title from Gerhard Fieseler...twenty-seven years of age but looks like a school boy...has been flying in China to sell and teach Chinese technic of German built ships...likes beer, ice cream and "good" American steaks...plays piano divinely...blushes...goes for brilliant ties and collegiate clothes...hobbies: kodak and motoring...carried Cleveland automobile back to Germany last year.

Clem Sohn...born on farm...got first ideas of man's flying from watching chicken hawks...has been jumping with parachutes for the last five years...world champion on delayed jumps...has been doing bat wing flying for the last year...soars around a three mile circle for about two and one-half minutes...loses altitude of 9,000 ft. before opening chute...has done inside loops and spins but thus far has not accomplished an outside loop...fishes for pastime...is a pilot but prefers soaring with "wings"...doesn't pilot plane anymore for fear he'll see an alluring valley below and bail out.

French ae-robatic champion and one of Eu-rope's most brilliant pilots ... beau brummel ... wears silk zip-per flying suit and has orderly to help him into it . . . carries cane as his "mascot" ... tucks cane away in his pane when he does his act ... likes America girls be-cause they're "so keen" ... known to intimates as "Mike" ... one of France's best known amateur fisherman ... has a Maurice Chev-alier accent which sounds like the movie star himself over the radio ... colorful after dinner speaker.

Milo Burcham ... world's inverted flight cham-pion ... trained for record flight of four hours by hanging upside down in a chair attached to a porch ceiling ... read magazines to pass the time ... once landed plane (forced) in a field of cattle ... un-scratched in landing but lost pants in getting away from irate cows through barbed wire fence ... is a short wave radio fan and keeps contact with friends all over the world ... one of the Pacific Coast's recognized short wave experts ... has the only Army Boeing plane privately owned which he uses for his stunting ... treasures an autographed photo of Senator Huey Long ... "You are as great a flyer as I am a Senator," Senator Long wrote him.
