winner, provided his speed exceed the present National Air Race record of 247.3 miles per hour. 
4. The owner of the winning airplane, or an Aero Club he may designate, will be given possession of the LOUIS W. GREVE TROPHY for ten months from the date of the Race. 
The pilot of the winning airplane will be awarded, for permanent possession, a Gold Plaque; the pilot of the airplane winning second place will be awarded, for permanent possession, a Silver Plaque, and the pilot of the airplane winning third place will be awarded, for permanent possession, a Bronze Plaque. 
5. Prize Money: First Place, 45%; Second Place, 25%; Third Place, 15%; Fourth Place, 10%; Fifth Place, 5%. 

Monday, September 6th 
Event No. 10
Women’s - A.T.C. Handicap
Women Pilots Only Total Purse $1,000
Open to Motors of 800 Cubic Inch Displacement or Less
1. This Race will be handicap event open to “C” licensed airplanes with motors of 800 cubic inch displacement or less, each of a maximum speed of not to exceed 175 miles per hour. A special Handicap Committee decided upon by the Committee for Women’s Contests of the National Aeronautic Association will establish a handicap time for each airplane entered. All handicaps will be absorbed at the starting line. In determining handicaps the Committee will have the right to have its test pilot or pilots fly the airplanes entered. 
2. Distance—25 miles—5 laps of the 5-miles course. 
3. Contestants must have established a qualifying speed of 100 miles per hour or better, in order to be eligible in this event. 
4. Prize Money: First Place, 45%; Second Place, 25%; Third Place, 15%; Fourth Place, 10%; Fifth Place, 5%.

Event No. 11
Consolation Race
Free-for-All—Men Pilots Only Total Puse $2,000
1. The airplanes eligible for this event will be all airplanes which have started in one or more of the closed course races at the 1937 National Air Races, which are not eligible for event No. 12, to a maximum of 10 starters. 
2. If more than 10 airplane are eligible for this event, the 10 having the highest speeds as established in the Speed Trials will start. 
3. Distance—50 miles—10 laps of the 5-mile course.
4. Prize Money: First Place, 45%; Second Place, 25%; Third Place, 15%; Fourth Place, 10%; Fifth Place, 5%.

Charles E. Thompson Trophy Race
International Free-for-All Men Pilots Only
TOTAL PURSE $21,000 and the CHARLES E. THOMPSON TROPHY
1. The airplanes eligible for this event will be the 10 airplanes made the fastest speeds in Events Nos. 7 and 8 
2. Distance—-200miles—-20 laps of the 10-mile course.
3. $20,000 of the above total purse will be awarded to the winners of the first five places on a division of prize money as shown below. 
$1000 of the above total purse will be awarded to the winner, provided his speech exceeds the present National Air Race Record of 264.261 miles per hour. 
4. The owner of the winning airplane, or an Aero Club he may designate, will be given the possession of the CHARLES E. THOMPSON TROPHY for ten months from the date of the Race.
