CONTEST COMMITTEE 
NATIONAL AIR RACES

1. I, the undersigned, make application for entry in the 1948 National Air Races. Enclosed find Certified, Cashier, Travelers Check, Telegraph, Money Order, or cash in hand, payable to the Cleveland National Air Races, for entry fee covering events as specified herein. 

2. This application is subject to the following rules, all of which I hereby accept:
a. It shall not become and entry until it is accepted by the Contest Committee of the National Air Races.
b. Entry fee is to be returned in event entry is not accepted.

3. I hereby agree that both I and my pilot will attend the Pilot's Meeting each day at 11 A.M. and familiarize ourselves with, and abide by, the Rules and Regulations of the 1948 National Air Races as prepared by the Contest Committee, which Rules and Regulations shall be considered a part hereof; also, that all matters not covered in such rules shall be subject to the Rules and Regulations of the F.A.I. A fine of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) will be assessed each entrant for each violation of pilot meeting attendance.

4. I hereby agree to furnish said Contest Committee all technical data which it may desire concerning my airplane and/or engine and to submit them to such tests as may be required and to abide by such decisions as shall be made in the premises. 

5. In consideration of my being accepted as a participant in the 1948 National Air Races, I hereby assume and accept full responsibility and hereby agree to indemnify and save harmless the Cleveland National Air Races and all its sponsors, officers and trustees; the City of Cleveland, Ohio; the County of Cuyahoga, Ohio; the United States Government, 
including its civilian employees and the officers and enlisted personnel of the armed services; National Aeronautic Association of U.S.A., and the United States Corps of engineers from any and all damages to persons or property caused by me, or my agents, servants or representatives, arising from the operation, storage, or maintenance of my airplane and/or equipment during the continuation of the 1948 National Air Races may use as a starting or control point for any race. 

6. For the consideration aforesaid, the undersigned, for myself, my heirs executors and administrators, hereby release and discharge the Cleveland National Air Races and all its sponsors, officers and trustees; the City of Cleveland, Ohio; the County of Cuyahoga, Ohio; the United States Government, including its civilian employees and the officers and enlisted personnel of the armed services; the National Aeronautic Association of U.S.A., Incorporated; Air Foundation; the Cleveland Chamber of Commerce; War Assets Administration; and the United States Corps of Engineers from any and all liability relating to any injuries sustained by me, my agents, servants or representatives, and from any and all liability relating to any damages which may be suffered by my property and/or equipment, as a result of or growing out of the participation by me, my agents, servants or representatives, in the 1948 National Air Races. 

7. I further agree, if required to do so, to submit to a physical examination by the physician appointed by said Contest Committee and/or to cause my agents or representatives to do the same, for the purpose of determining my  and/or our physical fitness to participate in any event.
 
8. It is further agreed that any announcements, notices, or decisions sent to me or my representatives shall be deemed properly addressed if directed to the address given under my signature. 

9. I, for myself, my agents, servants and representatives, agree that the Cleveland National Air Races has the sole right to take still or motion pictures, except close-up motion pictures of me and/or my airplane, of all or any part of my participation in the 198 National Air Races, and further that the right to dispose of such still or motion pictures is retained solely by the Cleveland National Air Races.
 
10. All Broadcasting and Television rights are retained by Cleveland National Air Races. 

SPECIAL NOTICE — THE CLEVELAND NATIONAL AIR RACES and its committees make no guarantee that any contestant or visiting pilot or mechanic will receive complimentary or reduced rates on gas, oil, service, meals, hotel, etc., purchased at Cleveland or at any stop enroute to, during, or returning from the 1948 National Air Races and assume no responsibility for any of the above expenses.
