Firestone
Makes Another Notable Contribution to
Aviation Safety and Economy with a
Senational New
250 M.P.H. Tire

[main text]
During World War II, Firestone air-
craft tires were builts to Firestone specifi-
cations. Now, Firestone sets the pace again
by developing for the fast-landing jet air-
craft of today and tomorrow a sensational
new tire which will withstand the punish-
ment of landings at speeds as high as 250
miles an hour.

Firestone Tires have been on the winning
cars in the last thirty consecutive Indian-
apolis races, where speeds on the straight-
aways reach 170 miles an hour or more. And
the lessons learned in building tires for the
Speedway have enabled Firestone engineers
to perfect this new aircraft tire for high-
speed landings.

Thus, once again, Firestone makes a notable
contribution to aviation safety and economy
... evidence that Firestone is still the leader in developing and building quality prod-
ucts for the Armed Forces and for civilian
aviation.
