THE NAA AND THE FAI
THE competitive events and the official aircraft record attempts conducted during the National Aircraft Show are run under the sanction of the National Aeronautic Association. As the United States member of the Federation Aeronatique Internationale, the National Aeronautic Association participates with 47 other nations in a world aeronautic federation formed in 1905 to govern sporting aviation competitions and record attempts throughout the world. NAA sanction insures safe conduct of competitive events; that winners thereof will receive advertised prizes and trophies, and that record performances established under controlled conditions will be recognized subsequently as official national, international or world records.

NATIONAL PIONEER PARACHUTE JUMPING CONTEST
THE PIONEER PARACHUTE JUMPING COMPANY, INC., Manchester, Conn., of which Lyman H. Ford is president, is again sponsoring this annual Aircraft Show feature during the afternoon of each day's program. This is a contest of skill and precision in which the jumpers demonstrate the maneuverability of the parachutes in their attempt to reach the bull's eye in a designated circle directly in front of the seating area. The event is in charge of Joe Crane, president of National Parachute Jumpers-Riggers, Inc., of New York and himself a veteran parachute jumper who has participated in National Aircraft Shows for many years.
