Quitman Ga. Nov. 6./67
Mr Ware
Dear Sir
I wrote to you while in Thomasville, stating that two ladies were daily expected, who were to teach the Freedman's school in that place. That being the case Capt. White advised me to come to the place and start a school, the people here being in want of a teacher. I have acted in accordance with this advice and have endeavored to get up a school but find it to be most emphatically "no go".
The church, used also as a school house, which is devoted to the use of the colored people is held by a board of trustees, whites.
