General Hofford told me he thought you would employ me at a given salary, if I would write you. Please tell me, what you are able to do for the cause here. At present, I am teaching a private-school. But I fear me, I should not be able to pay expenses. I have to pay eight dollars ($8.00) per month for a room to teach in. I also have to furnish a stove and wood, mow Mr. Ware, if you are willing and [[underlined]] able [[/underlined]] to assist me any, please let me know at your earliest convenience.
