Bureau R.F & A.L Agents Officer #9. A. & G. R.R. Ga. Oct. 31, 1867 Bv't Brig. Gen'l C.C. Sibley Asst Comr Bureau R.F & A.L. State of Georgia, General: I have the honor to report that there are, at present, six schools for colored children in my Division, consisting of the Counties of Appling, Pierce, & Ware, Georgia. There is however, considerable intent manifested, in regard to the matter, by both the white & colored people in the Counties of Pierce & Ware, & in the latter County I hope soon to have a school open at Tebeauville. In my opinion a white male teacher would be preferable for that place. In Appling County, I do not think there are a sufficient number of colored people, together in any one place to support a school. I am general Very Respectfully Your obt serv't Wm Royal Agent Bureau R.F & A.L.
