on higher ground and farther west. I am told by Col. Bryant and others, that the southern part of Georgia is healthy and promises that there is a large field for usefulness, many teachers persuaded me. 
If I could have a healthy, pleasant location where there were shade trees to  protect me from the sun's fierce heat. (and I have suffered sorely from lack of this.) and scholars enough which I would teach and train with year after year. I would be willing to remain six or eight yrs fully.
I have taught school in Mass. near Boston twenty yrs. was principal of larger Grammar school when desired to go south, and resigned my position to go there. There is a young lady with me who was assistant teacher in a High school in Wiscasset Maine who gave up that place to come and labor with me south. We shall go together
