Covington Newton Co. Ga.

I am happy to inform you that we have got a building in Covington where  the Freedmen can have school and worship God as they please. The Miss. Society of the M. E. Colored has purchased a house and lot for them in a very nice locality and Men. See commenced school in it last Monday the 11th inst. the Trustees of the property are Joseph Barber, Sander Thompson, and J.W. Yarbrough. The house is not as convenient or comfortable as we would like but answers well for school and is in fact the best we can do at present. Mers. See has 50 scholars & more coming
