and in a true missionary spirit it offers great inducements. I am not sure, I can resume the school next month. The people are not of themselves able to maintain a school; they can do a part. If you can assign this place to any commissioned Teacher from the North, paid wholly or in part by the societies, it will be a means of doing much good here. A School house, another year, can be had in town. The house I understand is a very commodious one used the present year as a dwelling house by Mr Cooper. He tells me the colored people can have the use of it by building one or more good chimneys to it. If such arrangements can be made please inform me & I shall direct preparations to be made.
