Madison Ga Dec. 4/67

Mr. E. A. Ware

Dear Sir,
I have been requested by the Bureau agent of our District to accept [[strikethrough]] take [[/strikethrough]] the oversight of schools in this County and have the teachers report monthly to me. I am willing to do so, should it meet your views; I applied to him for blank reports he referred me to you, saying he had none to spare  Will you be kind Enough to send me a few if you have them;

I am working to get permanently established in Georgia. I want instruct the Freedmen to work Live culture &Economise according to Southern principles and with that view I have leased a Small place three miles from Madison & have moved uppon it. I still teach & expect to continue teaching in Madison, ride in on horseback daily. I can live cheaper here than in town besides, turning my spare time to good account in assisting to support myself.

Our school is not as numerously attended as I expected it would be; Our house is large, and many of the children thinly clad many are too poor to pay us any thing, and rather than send without paying [[strikethrough]] anything [[/strikethrough]] keep their children home, I have rec'd about $20
