My Dear Sir,
Yrs of the 28 referring to the prospect of school Buildings in A. is at hand.

It seems to us very desirable that the School Building sh'd [[should]] - for the moment be in the control of those who are not likely to be changed in their feeling or relations  to the colored people.

Sometimes since at the request of Bu. officer I petitioned the City Council to grant to A. Mis. A. lots sufficient & suitable for a school building. - I understood from Capt. Prince that the petition was favorably rec'd & the lots would be granted.  Why will they not give them lots for all the buildings on yr petition?  If so that will be all the guarantee required by the Bureau.

The Council give them to us on condition that we use them for school purposes which we shall be sure to do if the Bu. puts up the houses.  Whatever is done about these four houses I hope it will not preclude the erection by
