Bureau R.F. and A.L.
Off. Agt Henry & Newton Cos
McDon'o Ga Dec. 10. 1867

Sir:
I have the honor to acknowledge yours of the 7th Inst. and in reply, say:

1 = There is no school in McDon'o. The building to be used as church and schoolhouse, is now about completed.

2 = I have repeatedly conferred with the freedmen, and they say that they "can pay the board of a teacher."

3 = They would "like a good colored teacher" and would be ready for her about middle of January next.

We are making some efforts to get a teacher.

Very Respectfully
Your obdt. svt.
