that everything is at the peak of prices now, a good time to sell but not to build or buy [[was?]] lumber at $65 to $75 for Spruce & [[Barrel?]] a thousand and shingles at $12 to $13 for a thousand no body can afford to do even repairs and carpenters getting $800 a day better pay high rents on a while. our taxes will be out of sight this year. they have raised so much at town meetings I haven't a doubt mine will be nearly $260.00 beside the extra $5.00 for Pole Tax & if the Congress pays a bonus and puts ¼ of 1% on to gross sales of goods. I see where I got my finish this year not very pleasant to think about just now.  I understand they are talking of starting a Lodge of Eastern Stars closer to the Lodge it has started up since the [[reception??]] that will give the women a chance to a share of the good times to get up. I think it will be organised by this fall don't know as your Ma will interest any in it I have not said anything to her about it as yet for was not sure it would be put through I am thinking of going for a tramp down to [[Jord??]] as soon as dinner is over we have to look at the Da [[Luceros?]] Plate for the bank in a few days so I will go for the walk  and will tell you how things look there when I get home  guess I will have to wear my over coat for sure
