Dear Doris-

Your last bundles came through last night, Pa came tugging it home when he came to supper. As he wrote you all about Charles's death he has had everything to do in regard to it no one to help at this end and no thanks perhaps, well I have been over to Abbies [[Abbie's]] twice a day. Abbie is growing weaker. they sent a telegram yesterday to Wallace to that effect, I wrote it for Knute, as he didnt [[didn't]] know how to word it. Elsie is filling the position fine. To Abbies [[Abbie's]] satisfaction, she has lots of friends coming in but thats [[that's]] as she likes it, they tire her sometimes but what can you do, she was giving away her things Thursday Elsie is the one to see that her wishes are carried out. She expects her mother will raise a row, but says she dont care, things are going where Grandma says if she can have her way she dont have much to respect for Myrtie or
