Dear Louis.
            We got the box Wednesday night and the flowers had all seatteud[[?]] off and lay in the bottom of the box they were too far gone when you hiehed[[?]] then, probably, they were large blossoms and must have been my tuf[[?]] by[[?]] too bad. this week has been cold for us especially Thursday and stormy most of the week. I have succeeded in getting most of my house cleaning done in spite of the dams[[?]] weather and my room, I am cleaning to day. I beat the carpet very early in the mourning before people were[[?]] up while Pa was down after his paper. I am cooking some more of those lovely parsniks[[?]] Pa dug whim [[?]] over in Ed Leonards garden this morning [[underlined]] they [[/underlined]] dont Sithe[[?]] them, wish you could have some they are a feast now lean tell you, they grew large and aint they swell! though I dug some dandelions yesterday and with some fish balls and baeon[[?]] we can make out guest[[?]] a dinner huekleberry[[?]] pie[[?]] to look[[?]] off with. Pa is conuing[[?]] now and I can have dinner. Babble[[?]] is slanding up while his master combes[[?]] him Pa has found his comb Post till I unearthed it in cleaning the sitting soon. and
